A Gay-Friendly Rummy?

This morning, we stumbled upon a blog entry by Steve Clemons. It's about a week old, and was posted during the debate about the Pentagon's instruction on mental disorders. This quote, however, is still worth bringing up today:

“It is well known that Don Rumsfeld has had numerous gay advisors -- particularly Stephen Herbits whom Rumsfeld has known since 1967 -- and today has a coterie of young men on his staff, running errands, carrying his attache case, doing advance work -- and at minimum, several of these people are gay.”

Clemons goes on to say that at least two gay Pentagon'ers said the Secretary of Defense seems “accepting and gay-friendly.” He even gives away "bear hugs" at his house in Kalorama!

A gay-friendly Rummy? Let's hope those DoD employees can convince him to take a stand against kicking them out of the service.
