An Amazing Peace

SLDN's offices will close later this afternoon for the holiday weekend, and we'll return on Wednesday, December 27. We'll begin new blog postings then, too.

Before we leave, though, we want to wish all of our supporters, and especially our men and women in uniform, many of whom are spending the holidays far away from home and their loved ones, an Amazing Peace this holiday season.

As Dr. Maya Angelou writes in her holiday poem:

In our joy, we think we hear a whisper.
At first it is too soft. Then only half heard.
We listen carefully as it gathers strength.
We hear a sweetness.
The word is Peace.
It is loud now. It is louder.
Louder than the explosion of bombs.
