CBS 4 Also Reports: Recruiters Ignoring Gay Policy

CBS 4 in Denver has a follow-up this afternoon to the story we brought you this morning about military recruiters.
According to reporter Rick Sallinger, "A CBS4 Investigation into recruiting by the United States Army found recruiters telling potential soldiers that it wasn't a problem if they were gay. The recruiters told people showing interest in being a soldier to keep their homosexuality to themselves."
We encountered one recruiter who said 'I'll pretend I didn't hear that.
The command responded, when confronted by Sallinger, that "We don't condone that behavior at all."
But, as channel 4 reported last night, they do seem to condone drug use and gang activity.
You can watch the full report online here.
We applaud recruiters for wanting access to the best and brightest, regardless of sexual orientation, but the best way to get there is for those same recruiters to speak out in favor of repealing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

nice ... but the photo used is of a marine recruiter.
There is nothing unusual about this. The army policy is that everyone is welcome, but as the recruiter said in that video, to "keep their sexual orientation to themselves".
Good work. I found your blog on Chris Crain's blog, citizencrain.com. These CBS 4 reports should be "Exhibit A" in hearings on DADT that will hopefully occur in the new Congress.
